I had the pleasure of photographing 14 day old Sophia this morning. She was wide awake with some terrible hiccups at first, but once they went away she slept like a log for most of her session.
A sweet smile

Last week, I had the pleasure of witnessing and photographing this little guy’s debut into the world!

His birth slideshow not only made his mommy cry, but I tear up each and every time I watch it. I definitely would love the opportunity to do this again in the future!
And as if photographing his birth wasn’t good enough, I did his newborn session when he was 5 days old. Such a teeny, tiny little boy. He reminded us the entire session that “accidents will happen”! LOL!

Sunday evening, I met up with my friends and their kids for their family pictures. I scheduled the session for 6, hoping we’d beat the heat but that was not the case! It was VERY hot and humid and I know any future summer sessions will more than likely be HOTTER! But Nykia and Tyrie have 3 of the best behaved kids, so we finished their session in about 30 minutes.

I could immediately tell how much love the boys have for their baby sister. It was so sweet to watch them together and to hear them trying to make their baby sister smile for the camera. I know they are going to be very protective of her as she gets older.

Her mom and dad are completely smitten by her as well!

I am sure that everyone was relieved when I announced the end of the session so we could escape the heat. We were all so hot, but Miss Kylie knew how to keep her cool!

It was great seeing you guys on Sunday! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

1. I really, really, really cannot believe that it’s almost the end of May already! That means that we are almost halfway through 2010! That also means that I will be 30 in a few weeks! WOW, time is flying!!
2. That also means that school is almost out for Jayden. He’s shown lots of progress all around, so they will not have him to continue school and therapy for the summer. He’ll have a break from June until the beginning of August. My only concern is that he will regress socially. He’s come so far from the child that HATED being around kids his size or younger. Now he shares, interacts, and even initiates play with other kids. I don’t want him to lose that. I’m going to see if we can get him back into the Mother’s Day Out program at the gym we are members of. They were very accomodating and took great care of Jayden there.
3. Yesterday was a weird day for me…For some reason, I was SO TIRED during the day. I even tried to take a nap at about 3 (I NEVER take naps!) but as soon as I tried that, Jayden woke up. I was DRAGGING for the rest of the day. I got on my conference call at 9 that night and then got straight in bed by 10. I couldn’t close my eyes!! 11 came and went, 12 came and went…I didn’t get to sleep until after 5am!! And I had to wake up at 7:30 to take Jayden to school.
4. No, I didn’t take a nap today and I don’t feel tired. AND I’m going to Zumba tonight! If I cannot sleep tonight there will be a problem!
5. My business is FINALLY picking up again, since the move, and I am so very thankful. I really missed picking up my camera and was starting to worry about losing my skill and enthusiasm. But now, I’m so excited each time a session approaches and my new clients are just as excited!
6. As of now, I’m completely booked for the rest of the month (it’s almost gone anyway!) and I have one day available in June.
7. Here’s one example of why I’m so happy to be at it again…

8. And another…

9. I also have several newborns coming up. A photographer’s dream! I do want to ask that you keep one of my clients in your prayers. She had her baby on May 10 and found out that he has some health issues and will be in the NICU for at least 8 weeks. I know what it’s like to have a sick child, but I can only imagine how painful it is to have a child that comes into this world immediately fighting for his life. Hug your babies extra tight tonight.

I had a session at our house on Saturday and as I was setting everything up, Jayden came in and asked to take some “Pishures!”. And he surprised me when he actually cooperated and posed for me! He’s finally starting to like to have his picture taken, so I look forward to sharing more pictures of my sweet boy on my blog

Little Owen traveled from Metairie to my little home studio setup for his session. He did so great and even fell fast asleep towards the end, so we got some sleepy shots as well. He slept better than some newborns I’ve photographed! Hope you enjoy the sneak peek Debbie!!
